In my marriage and family therapy practice, I provide high quality counseling, in a peaceful private setting, with deep personal respect for my clients and their loved ones.
In private practice I focus on improving marriage, couple, and family relationships. I see individuals, couples, and families.
In addition to private practice, I've also worked in various counseling programs and as the program director for a research and treatment program. I continue to provide training and clinical supervision to intern therapists at local agencies.
My training and experience as a licensed Marriage Family Therapist include an undergraduate degree in psychology, a master's degree in clinical psychology, 3000 hours (about 3 years) practicum prior to licensure, and then passing two state licensing exams. All combined, this is typically a 9 to 10 year process. Continuing education is then required to keep the LMFT license active.
I have additional education in couple's therapy, substance abuse recovery, and a certificate in plant based nutrition. Special areas of professional interest are couple's work, nutrition and mood, lifestyle change, change theory, substance use recovery, and client centered approaches to treatment.
I am a member of the California Association of Marriage Family Therapists (CAMFT), and of the American Association for Marriage Family Therapists (AAMFT).
